Shkodra is a city you can cross in twenty minutes and spend a week exploring. The old town runs on café terraces and bicycles; beyond it the land opens into wetlands, a castle on a hill, and the road north into the Alps.
An e-bike is the honest way to see it. The distances between the lake, the castle and the river are just far enough to be tiring on foot and just short enough that a car feels absurd. With pedal assist, Shirokë for lunch and Rozafa at sunset is one unhurried day.
